In 2020, tomtoc launched the upgraded Recycled Collection laptop sleeve - nature protection, top product quality, beauty in design should be together.
The best-selling laptop sleeve series - A13 and A14 lines have been both upgraded with RPET (recycled polyethylene tetraphyte) used, a green and environmentally friendly fabric woven from recycled plastic bottle yarn. Naturally attached with a smoother touching feel and good mechanical properties, the new version lead us to explore the path of beauty in environmental sustainability.
Incineration and landfill are not the way for used plastic bottles.
In the fast-moving era, the world consumes 1 million+ plastic bottles every minute. It takes 500 years for plastic bottles to automatically decompose in the soil. Between "consumption" and "digestion", there should be more friendship and integration.
RPET recycles plastic that has already been made, usually plastic bottles, and chops the bottles into tiny flakes. These flakes are then melted to separate the core PET ingredient of the bottle. This PET can then be used to make anything from a case to shoes. Up to 50% energy can be saved and more importantly, the existing bottles already created don’t always end up in landfill. We can leave the planet as it is - rather than obtaining the core ingredient via the highly damaging process of crude oil primary extraction, we instead make use of a product in abundance that may otherwise have directly contributed to landfill.
Keep it recycled on the go
As of August 2021, the tomtoc Recycled Collection series of laptop sleeves have digested about 1,696,085 recycled plastic bottles. During the production process, about 427.413421 tons of carbon emissions were reduced.
So far, tomtoc eco-friendly series have welcomed more members to tomtoc community.
